Welcome!
Our lab focuses on mechanisms that regulate gene expression, with a special emphasis on how the DNA-packaging structure of chromatin is manipulated during genomic processes. Chemical modifications to both chromatin and non-chromatin proteins play a key role in regulating gene expression and affect many important cellular processes, including growth, metabolism, reproduction, behavior, and aging. Our findings inform the study of cancer, neurodegeneration, and other diseases, and ultimately lead to drug discovery.
